A realtor should be much more than a door opener who lets you in to see the home you want to see.

A good realtor will, first, know the market and know how to assess the value of a home. When you are buying, the price has to be appropriate. If it is not, you can overspend and run into lending issues along the way.

Another thing a good realtor will do is have a servant’s heart. They will always put you first. It is never about their commission. It is never about them getting a paycheck. It is never about making the job easier for themselves. It is always about doing the best job possible, so you and your loved ones get the best result.

Something a lot of folks do not know: negotiating is a large part of a realtor’s job, yet less than 1% of realtors have any formal training in negotiation. That matters.

Lastly, a good realtor will be confident in leading you to a successful home-buying experience.
